Nokia has announced the Beacon 10 Wi-Fi 6E Gateway at the ongoing Mobile World Congress, MWC 2023. The Beacon 10 is Nokia’s first gateway with Wi-Fi 6E support and provides secure, high-capacity mesh networking. The Beacon 10 was displayed alongside Nokia’s brand refresh for B2B innovation. The home gateway device supports faster speeds and lower latencies.
The Beacon 10 is ideal for the latest office applications, home entertainment, and home working experiences, according to the OEM. It’s a tri-band device that is capable of 10Gbps Wi-Fi throughput. It also contains a 10G WAN interface that pairs with the 10Gbps modems for multi-gigabit services. The mesh creates a seamless Wi-Fi home network with high-speed internet connectivity. You can extend the coverage of the Beacon 10 gateway by pairing up to 5 units. In addition, the device has a simple, app-based setup and management.
The Nokia Wi-Fi mobile app has several important features including analytics and parental control. It ensures that the network is easy to create and manage. There are step-by-step instructions on how to install the Wi-Fi network or expand it further. Nokia has upgraded its Wi-Fi Cloud Controller to operate as a USP controller.
Nokia also introduced an all-in-one console for optimal Wi-Fi management which will be available to customer care operators, network administrators, and a host of other technical support staff to help with troubleshooting, optimization, and management. Nokia was silent on its implementation strategy and timeline of deployment of the new systems.
