Oukitel is a China-based mobile device manufacturer known for its rugged handsets and portable accessories. The company had launched some interesting phones in the past. For instance, its recent WP21 handset debuted with a rugged design and a watch-like external screen. Now, the brand is gearing up to bring the Oukitel WP22 as the world’s loudest smartphone. Here are the details.

The Oukitel WP22 will be launched later this month and it won’t arrive as an ordinary rugged smartphone. Apart from the usual IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H ratings that we see on rugged phones, it will also bring a rear-mounted speaker. The speaker on the smartphone is capable of producing audio power up to 4W and top output of 125 decibels (dB), making it the most powerful and loudest speaker available on a smartphone.

Talking about other specifications, the handset comes with a 6.58-inch FHD+ display that produces a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is powered by the Helio P90 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. There’s a 20MP “night vision” camera as well as a 48MP main shooter and a 2MP macro on the back. The front gets a 16MP selfie camera, placed in a water-drop notch.

The standout feature of the WP22 is its massive 10,000mAh battery, which can last up to 52 days under certain conditions. In addition, it runs Android 13, which is a noteworthy inclusion in a market where most devices still operate on Android 12-based software.

Those interested in purchasing the Oukitel WP22 can do so from March 20, 2023. The current price for the smartphone on its AliExpress page is approximately $400, but an introductory special may reduce the cost to around $171 on launch day.
