Microsoft’s Windows 11 has been out for a while now, but users are still not as satisfied as they should be. Many people miss the customization options they had in Windows 7 or even XP, and one of them is undoubtedly the ability to customize the Taskbar. Apparently listening to user feedback, Microsoft is finally adding this feature to Windows 11. Here are the details…

Microsoft might be working on movable Taskbar on Windows 11 after all

When Windows 11 was released, users quickly requested the ability to move the Taskbar, and this has remained the most popular request with over 20,000 upvotes. Although Microsoft is aware of what users want, their engineers seem to be having difficulty with this task. A senior staff member at Microsoft stated that there were “challenges” with this feature, which upset users.

In response, a Neowin editor wrote an article saying that it didn’t make sense for Microsoft to struggle with such a basic feature. Moving the Taskbar has been possible in previous versions of Windows, and it’s an important way for users to personalize their desktop. However, things might be changing. A Windows enthusiast noticed that the Taskbar can be moved to the top in the Dev channel. While this feature is basic, it’s a positive sign that Microsoft is starting to work on this highly requested feature.

It’s unclear whether the ability to move the Taskbar to the top is an intentional feature or a bug, but it doesn’t break the user interface. With the new Canary channel in place, Microsoft may start experimenting with this feature more often.
