It was recently revealed that the iQOO Neo 8 series smartphones are in development. The brand could launch these devices in the second half of 2022. So far, some details about the iQOO Neo 8 and the Neo 8 Pro have surfaced online. Now, Weibo tipster DCS has revealed more details about these devices.

According to the tipster, the upcoming iQOO Neo 8 series is rumored to boast a high-resolution 1.5K display with support for high-frequency PWM dimming. Under the hood, the Neo 8 Pro is expected to be equipped with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, while the standard model will feature a Dimensity 9200+ SoC. Although information about the Dimensity 9200+ is scarce, it will essentially be an upgraded Dimensity 9200, which is currently serving as the powerhouse of devices like the Vivo X90 and X90 Pro.

The Neo 8 series will also feature 120W fast charging, which is not surprising given that its predecessor already supports this feature. The battery capacity has not been revealed yet, but it is likely to be around 5000mAh.

In terms of the camera, the Neo 8 series is expected to sport a 50MP primary camera sensor, with the Neo 8 Pro possibly featuring a larger 1/1.5-inch camera sensor. However, the brand of the sensor has not been disclosed. The Neo 8 series will offer up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, but other specifications remain unknown. The series is set to launch in China in May 2023, according to the source.
