Xiaomi has been hard at work updating all of its eligible devices to the latest version of MIUI. So far, the brand rolled out the new software to a sizeable number of smartphones and tablets in both global and Chinese markets. The latest device to get the Android 13-based MIUI 14 update is the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro. The tablet is receiving the update in China with support for the photon engine. Here are the details.
As shared by users, the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro units in China are now getting updated to MIUI 14. The update is being seeded in a phased manner and it should reach every unit in a few days. Do note that the global Pad 5 Pro models are yet to receive the latest update. We expect Xiaomi to start rolling out the Android 13 update to the international market in the near future.
MIUI 14 update for the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro brings all the new features introduced by Xiaomi as well as Google. The software comes with a greatly simplified design as well as a smaller memory footprint. As mentioned, it also brings support for the MIUI photon engine, which is touted to increase the fluency of third-party apps by up to 88% and reduce their power consumption by up to 16%.
Other notable features of the MIUI 14 include customizable folders with large icons, new widget options with various shapes and sizes, automatic compression for less-used apps, and a toggle to turn off permanent notifications.
