Oppo has launched a new entry-level 5G smartphone in China. The handset officially goes by Oppo A1x. It costs around ¥1500 (~$220) but does not offer a good set of features, unlike Redmi and Realme.

This is not surprising as the Oppo A series has never been value for money in any market. That being said, let’s have a detailed look at this phone.

Oppo A1x

The Oppo A1x sports a flat frame design. Its cameras are laid out in two different circular modules. It comes in black and blue color options.

The device is built around a 6.56-inch HD+ (1612 x 720 pixels) display (LCD) with a dewdrop notch. The screen supports up to a 90Hz refresh rate, 600 nits peak brightness level, and 100% sRGB color gamut.

The handset is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. It boots ColorOS 12 based on Android 12.

It arrives with a 13MP (wide) + 2MP (depth) rear camera system and an 8MP front-facing camera. Other features include a MicroSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Last but not least, the phone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for standard 10W charging.

As far as the price is concerned, the Oppo A1x retails at ¥1,399 and ¥1,599 for 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB memory configurations, respectively.
