In February, Realme unveiled the Realme GT Neo 5 as the world’s first phone with 240W charging. The smartphone came equipped with an impressive C-shaped RGB light unit on the back, which glows when there is a notification. It debuted as an affordable flagship phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. Today, the brand unveiled the Realme GT Neo 5 SE as a toned-down version of the GT Neo 5. It is the second phone after the Redmi Note 12 Turbo to feature the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 chipset. Here is all the information on the specifications, features, and price of the device.
Realme GT Neo 5 SE specifications and features
The Realme GT Neo 5 SE has a 6.74-inch flat OLED panel with a centrally aligned punch-hole. The screen offers a 1.5K resolution of 1240 x 2772 pixels, a refresh rate of 144Hz, a 2160Hz high-frequency dimming, and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits. It is actually the same display that’s available on the GT Neo 5.
The Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2, which offers flagship-level performance, powers the Realme GT Neo 5 SE along with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The topmost model of the device offers 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. There is no microSD card slot on the device. It ships with the Realme UI 4.0-based Android 13 OS.
The Realme GT Neo 5 SE has a 16-megapixel camera on the front for shooting selfies and making video calls. The camera setup on the back is headlined by a 64-megapixel primary snapper. It is coupled with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
To keep the lights on, the Realme GT Neo 5 features a 5,500mAh battery that supports 100W charging, a first on a mid-range phone. The company claims that it can easily last for up to two days on a single charge. The handset offers other features, such as dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, an IR blaster, a USB-C port, dual stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Realme GT Neo 5 SE price and availability
The Realme GT Neo 5 SE has arrived in multiple configurations in China, as follows:
- 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage – 2,099 Yuan
- 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage – 2,299 Yuan
- 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage – 2,399 Yuan
- 16 GB RAM + 1 TB storage – 2,599 Yuan
The GT Neo 5 comes in Final Fantasy and Black shades. Realme will start receiving its pre-orders from today in the home market and it will go on sale on April 10. During the pre-sale period, all the variants will be available with 100 Yuan discount. The device is expected to release in other markets, but it is unclear whether it will carry the same name.
