Samsung Electronics and AMD have declared an expansion of their strategic IP licensing agreement to incorporate AMD Radeon graphics technology into additional Samsung Exynos mobile processors. Samsung is renowned as a worldwide leader in semiconductor technology, while AMD is a prominent provider of high-performance computing and graphics solutions.

Samsung will be able to provide console-quality graphics and extremely low power consumption to a larger variety of mobile devices thanks to the multi-year setup, providing a more engaging and lasting gaming experience.

In order to licence AMD RDNA graphics architecture for Samsung’s mobile chips, Samsung and AMD first collaborated in 2019. Samsung Xclipse, a mobile GPU based on AMD RDNA 2 architecture, was released in 2022 as a result of the partnership. Realistic and breathtaking graphics are now possible on mobile devices thanks to Xclipse, the first mobile GPU to provide hardware-accelerated ray tracing and variable rate shading features.
