Signify, the parent company of Philips, has released a new range of LED light bulbs that promise to be even more energy-efficient than their previous models. The Philips Ultra Efficient LED bulbs use 40 percent less energy than their usual LED options, making them a more eco-friendly choice for those looking to reduce their carbon footprint.
But that’s not all – Signify estimates that the Ultra Efficient line has an average lifespan of 50 years, which is more than three times the usage of Philips’ standard LED bulbs. This means that not only will these bulbs help you save on your energy bills, but they will also be a more sustainable option in the long run, reducing waste and the need for frequent replacements.
The Philips range is available exclusively at Walmart and starts at $10 for a 60W-equivalent A19 bulb ($17 for two) in soft white and daylight variants. While the cost may be higher than standard LEDs, Signify is banking on the lower energy costs and increased longevity, ultimately saving consumers way more money in the long run.
