Internally codenamed Felix, the Pixel Fold is expected to be priced over $1,700, making it a premium offering. It will feature a squarish display that will make it more compact and portable, with the cover display measuring 5.8-inch, and the main tablet-sized screen offering a 7.6-inch viewing area. The front or cover screen is expected to have an OLED panel, while the main display may use advanced polymer material for flexibility and durability. According to a report by The Elec, the Pixel Fold will use Samsung’s M13 display material set.

The Pixel Fold is expected to have a highly durable hinge and a water-resistant body, making it more robust than its counterparts. The device will reportedly have a longer battery life than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, with the powerful Tensor G2 chipset providing up to 24 hours of usage and up to 72 hours in low-power mode. The device will be on the slightly heavier side with an expected weight of 283 grams.

While Google is a pioneer of the Android OS, the Pixel Fold will compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the foldable smartphone market. Both companies are working to improve the software experience on Android phones, with Samsung using a custom Android L version for tablets and foldable. Google is also expected to offer an optimized experience in its foldable.

Google Pixel Fold will likely be unveiled alongside Pixel 7a on May 10 and the device is expected to be available from June 27. According to reports, Google will offer a free Pixel Watch to Fold buyers.
