Sony’s upcoming 5G smartphone with model number XQ-DQ72, believed to be the Xperia 5 V, has been certified by the China Quality Certification Center’s 3C certification. The device is set to come with a 33W fast charging capability, but surprisingly, it will be sold without a power adapter. This move could be seen as Sony’s contribution towards reducing electronic waste, as consumers can use their existing chargers or purchase them separately if required.

Sony Xperia 5 V 3C certification

The Xperia 5 V has already made an appearance on Geekbench’s benchmark database. It is expected to come equipped with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and will be available in two different RAM versions – 12GB and 16GB. The device is also expected to be the first to support Bluetooth LE Audio and LC3 alongside Xperia 1 V, which would enhance the overall audio experience of the device.

Sony’s naming convention for Xperia phones is based on a simple and clear system. The XQ-D in the model number of the new Xperia 5 V represents the Mark V generation, which is the latest iteration of Sony’s smartphones. Last year’s model was labeled XQ-C, indicating that the company is moving through the alphabet to signify new generations. The “Q” before the number indicates that this phone is the Xperia 5, while the Xperia 1 is identified by a “T” in the model number. Lastly, the number after the “Q” signifies the sales market and whether the device is single or dual SIM.

Sony has been known to prioritize performance and quality in its devices, and the Xperia 5 V is expected to be no different. With its fast charging capability and powerful processor, the device is poised to deliver a seamless user experience.
