Redmi has officially announced that it will soon be launching a new addition to its Note series of smartphones. The upcoming device is called the Note 12R Pro 5G and is expected to be a mid-range offering. According to reports, the Note 12R Pro 5G will fit in between the Note 12 Pro 4G, the Note 12 Pro Speed Edition, and the standard Note 12 Pro 5G.

The Chinese launch of the Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G is set for April 29, however, there is no information yet regarding its availability in other markets. In the meantime, we can take a glimpse of the expected features, specifications, and other details about the Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G.

The official teaser smartphone has a flat frame design and a curved rear panel with a rectangular dual-camera module on the back. The device boasts a 48MP main camera sensor and supports the latest 5G network. Redmi has announced that the phone will be available in three colors – Gold, Black, and White. The phone will come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and is equipped with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC under the hood. It will support up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The device is also expected to feature an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an SGS low blue light certification for eye protection. The phone will likely sit between the Note 12 Pro 4G and Note 12 Pro 5G in Xiaomi’s portfolio. While other details about the phone remain unknown, the device is expected to launch with Android 13 out of the box with MIUI 14 on top.
