Google is once again revamping its Home app with new updates that are set to make it even more user-friendly. The Home app allows you to control various devices, such as smart lights, thermostats, cameras, speakers, and even TVs. With the Google Home app, you can turn lights on and off, adjust the temperature of your thermostat, view camera feeds, play music on compatible speakers, and much more. You can also use the app to create routines that automate multiple actions with a single command. The latest version features a new Inbox feed, a redesigned lighting control system, and an updated notification bell icon, making it easier than ever to manage your smart home.

The Inbox Feed replaces the Activity Tab

One of the most notable changes is the introduction of the Inbox feed, which replaces the activity tab. The notification bell icon on the top of the favorites tab will take you to the Inbox feed where you can see all your recent notifications. Meanwhile, the Activity tab will only display your history view.

Another change is the redesigned lighting controls, which now feature a pill-shaped slider, color controls, and lighting presets. This update, which is currently available only in the Dogfood build, lets you customize the temperature and color of your smart lights, making it easier to pick the perfect ambience for your home.

While it’s unclear when the new version will be available to all users, it’s clear that Google is committed to improving its Home app. Quite recently, Google introduced some interesting features to their Home app. With these new updates, the app is set to become the ultimate one-stop-shop for managing your smart home.
