The VanMoof X4 and S4 e-bikes have been unveiled. The new VanMoof bikes can reach a top speed of 32km/h and a pedal-assisted range of 140km. There are lots of features in the bike which can be controlled via its companion smartphone app.
The VanMoof X4 comes with a more compact and lightweight design, weighing 20.3kg and it has 24 inches wheels. The S4 weighs 21.6kg and features 27.5 inches wheels. It can accommodate taller riders than the X4.
The new VanMoof X4 and S4 e-bikes offer four power modes and Turbo Boost for instant acceleration. The range of the e-bikes varies according to the riding mode, with the economy the highest (140km) and full power, the lowest (60km). The VanMoof X4 and S4 can be recharged up to 50% in 90 minutes, but a full recharge is achieved in 4.5 hours. You can also deploy a range-extending power pack for the e-bike. This can extend the X4 or S4’s range to 240km.
The smartphone app of the VanMoof S4 and X4 offers several intelligent functionalities. These include auto rider recognition, GSM-based location tracking, and remote lock to prevent theft. The bike has a keyless Kick Lock that secures the rear wheel and activates the e-bike’s alarm. An SP Connect phone mount is also present in the VanMoof e-bikes. You can also add a front basket or rear carrier for the VanMoof S4 and X4 e-bikes.

The two new VanMoof e-bikes are available in four color variants. They will be launched first in the US and EU this month. The models will arrive in the UK market in June 2023 and are priced at around $2,500. The four color variants of the VanMoof X4 and S4 e-bikes will be released sequentially in the various markets.
