Italian company To-Move has announced the TOM folding electric scooter with a very compact design. The TOM e-scooter is inspired by the Honda Motocompo in compactness. However, the TOM is a fully electric scooter and more compact than the iconic Honda model of the 1980s. It has a folding mechanism that accomplishes folding in a jiffy.

The TOM, according to To-Move, can be folded within 7 seconds. The entire front end of the scooter folds in on the EV’s frame and the compact folded package is 94cm long. The folded e-scooter can fit snugly in a variety of small spaces in a car or the office. The TOM weighs about 20kg and comes in a green, minimalist design. It features bamboo bodywork on the sides and an overall streamlined design. The e-scooter comes with tiny wheels and is suited for riding on pavement.

The TOM has a 750Wh battery pack that provides up to 48km on a full charge. It has a rear-mounted 500W motor that gives the scooter a top speed of 45km/h. The e-scooter supports Bluetooth pairing and its companion mobile app allows for customizing various settings. You can also use your smartphone as a navigational tool and mobile dashboard.

The TOM has been mounted on a Kickstarter campaign. The starting price of the e-scooter is €1,589 (~$1,745). The ultra-compact nature of the TOM, coupled with its stability, as compared with kick scooters are key selling points for the model.
