As Xiaomiui points out, the device shares most of its features with the recently released Redmi 12. In fact, we can consider Redmi Note 12R as a 5G version of Redmi 12.

Let’s go through its specifications along with pricing and availability.

Redmi Note 12R Specications

The Redmi Note 12R’s cameras look similar to Samsung smartphones. In other words, they don’t have a noticeable bump and are separated from one another. But they are arranged similarly to the cameras on iPhones.

The main highlight of the handset is the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, which enables 5G connectivity. This chip is the major reason that makes the phone different from the 4G-only Redmi 12, which has a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC.

Further, the device sports a 6.79-inch centered punch-hole display (LCD) with an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.

It comes with a dual-camera system on the rear comprising a 50MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there’s a 5MP snapper for selfies and video calls. For comparison, the Redmi 12 has an additional 8MP ultra-unit on the back and an 8MP front-facing camera.

On the software front, the Redmi Note 12R boots MIUI 14 based on Android 13. Finally, it draws energy from a 5,000mAh battery and carries support for 18W wired charging.

Redmi Note 12R Price

The handset can be availed in either black, blue, or silver gradient color options from China Telecom. There’s no official word on its international availability yet.
