Microsoft’s numbers are quite close to analysts’ estimates
As of June 2023, the total sales of the Xbox Series S|X have reached an impressive 21 million units. This comes as no surprise, as earlier this year, a third-party agency estimated the sales volume to be around 22 million. The official figures released by Microsoft align closely with these estimates, showcasing the accuracy of the predictions made by industry experts.
Additionally, the combined sales of the Xbox One series, encompassing the first generation, One S, and One X, have surpassed an astounding 58 million units. This demonstrates the enduring popularity of the previous generation Xbox consoles among gamers worldwide.
In comparison, Sony’s PlayStation 5, a direct competitor to the Xbox series, had reportedly sold approximately 38.5 million units as of May 2023.
