Live shots of the highly anticipated Google Pixel 8 Pro have surfaced on Reddit, providing a closer look at the device’s design and revealing some key specifications. The images, claimed to be from a prototype sourced from Google’s device team for testing, validate previous leaks and rumors.

One noticeable change in the Pixel 8 Pro’s design is the absence of the traditional “G” logo found on previous Pixel phones. Instead, the device features an intriguing patterned design, adding a touch of uniqueness.
The leaked image showcases the rear design of the phone revealing a unified pill-shaped camera module, housing the device’s three cameras. Alongside the cameras, there is a microphone, an LED flash, and an intriguing addition—an IR thermometer sensor. This Far Infrared (FIR) thermometer is expected to enable temperature measurement capabilities, which could find utility in various scenarios.
The bootloader screen of the Pixel 8 Pro reveals interesting details about the device. It mentions the codename “husky” and the “recurrent” bootloader. Furthermore, the text “Zuma” on the back refers to the Tensor G3 chip, which will power the Pixel 8 Pro. This custom chip, developed by Google, is expected to enhance performance and efficiency.
Moreover, the bootloader screen reveals the device will be equipped with 12GB of Samsung LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of SK Hynix storage. The device’s camera configuration is said to feature a 50MP primary sensor, a 64MP ultra-wide camera, and a telephoto lens capable of 5x zoom. Google Pixel 8 series is expected to launch later this year probably in October.
