The future of mountain biking is here, and it’s electrifying. With each passing year, electric mountain bikes (e-MTBs) are becoming more advanced and sophisticated, blurring the boundaries between traditional non-electric models and recreational electric bikes. Canadian bike brand Cycles Devinci is at the forefront of this revolution with its latest release, the 2023 E-Troy, a bike that promises to captivate even the craziest MTB enthusiasts.

The Electric Bike has 58 miles of range on a single charge

The focus for this bike was on optimizing performance, resulting in a bike built around a powerful motor and featuring suspension specifically tuned for the bike’s weight. Cycles Devinci has also taken quality control to new heights by manufacturing the E-Troy’s frame in-house at their Canadian facility, a shift from the previous model that was produced in Asia.

The 6061 T6 aluminum frame, a hallmark of Devinci’s durability, remains a core feature of the E-Troy. The bike’s robust construction, accompanied by a lifetime warranty, instills confidence in riders, assuring them of its capability to conquer even the most challenging terrains. With 150 millimetres of travel and a 160 or 170-millimetre fork, depending on the chosen trim level, the E-Troy offers a smooth and responsive ride. Regardless of the configuration, the 2023 E-Troy sports a mullet setup, combining a 29-inch front wheel with a 27.5-inch rear wheel. The best features of the new E-Troy centre around Bosch‘s cutting-edge e-bike system, the Performance Line CX. This proven system delivers an impressive maximum output of 85 newton-meters of torque, allowing riders to conquer any trail. The motor’s performance can be fine-tuned through Devinci’s smartphone app, enabling riders to personalize their biking experience.

With the Bosch PowerTube 625 battery, riders can enjoy up to 58 miles of range on a single charge, depending on the terrain and riding conditions. The frame-integrated battery is easily removable and equipped with a lock for security. Charging is hassle-free with a conveniently located charge port above the motor, and Devinci’s 4A Supercharger can replenish the battery from zero to 80 percent in just two hours.

Depending on the model chosen, riders also have access to various Bluetooth-enabled controllers. The top-of-the-line GX 12s LTD boasts the Bosch Systm Controller, while the GX 12s comes with the Bosch Kiox 300. The base model, Deore 12s, features the Bosch Purion controller. It is priced at $6,399, with the mid-tier GX 12s retailing at $7,699 USD. For those seeking the ultimate electric mountain biking experience, the E-Troy GX 12s LTD will need a huge investment of $7,999 USD.
