In a new announcement, Pokémon has introduced an innovative game that promises to transform the way we sleep. Pokémon Sleep aims to turn slumber into an exciting adventure, providing entertainment and a fresh perspective on our nightly routines (if you thought that wasn’t possible in the technology-driven world today).
The user’s quality of sleep will greatly affect their score the next morning
The game invites players to embark on a captivating journey set on a serene island, where they will conduct research on the sleep patterns of Pokémon. Assisted by the island’s prominent inhabitants, the hulking and tranquil Snorlax, and Professor Neroli, a renowned Pokémon sleep researcher, players will explore the mysteries of restful nights.
The concept behind Pokémon Sleep is remarkably simple. Before going to bed, players place their smartphones near their pillows, allowing the game to record and analyze their sleep data. The duration and quality of sleep directly impact the player’s score upon awakening, as well as the appearance of Pokémon around the affable Snorlax. Pokémon with similar sleep styles will gather around the giant creature, creating a charming morning experience.
Part of the excitement lies in discovering Pokémon in rare sleep styles that are rarely observed in everyday encounters. Each Pokémon boasts a unique range of sleep patterns, enticing players to explore and complete their sleep style collection, known as the “sleep style dex.”
Enhancing the experience is the Pokémon GO Plus + device, an accessory that facilitates sleep monitoring with a simple press of a button. Utilizing Bluetooth Low Energy technology, the device seamlessly links with Pokémon Sleep. By holding the central button, placing it beside their pillow, and dozing off, players can effortlessly track their sleep data. Moreover, the familiar voice of Pikachu, emitted by the Pokémon GO Plus +, provides delightful prompts to awaken and lull players to sleep.
Pokémon Sleep is scheduled to launch globally in the summer of 2023, with the exception of specific regions. Additionally, Pokémon enthusiasts can mark the release of Pokémon GO Plus + on July 14, 2023, which will seemingly complement the Pokémon Sleep experience.
