In May, iQOO unveiled the iQOO Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro in the Chinese market. In June, the brand announced the more powerful iQOO 11S in the home market. It appears that the brand is now working on the launch of a Z-series mid-range smartphone. Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked the first details about what will be the successor for the iQOO Z7, which was announced earlier this year in China.

According to the leak, the iQOO Z8 will be a high-performance sub-flagship smartphone, featuring an LCD panel. Notably, the phone will have a dual-cell battery configuration, combining two 2440mAh batteries to achieve a combined capacity of 5000mAh, which will carry support for 120W fast charging technology. The other details of the Z8 are yet to surface.

To recap, the iQOO Z7 (Chinese edition) was introduced in March of this year, featuring a 6.64-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2388 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is likely that the Z8 will retain the same display specifications. Additionally, the iQOO Z7 (Chinese edition) also featured a 5,000mAh dual-cell battery with 120W charging support.

Some sources in China have claimed that the iQOO Z8 will be powered by the Dimensity 8200 chipset. However, it is recommended to wait for more recent reports to confirm other specifications of the Z8. It’s worth noting that iQOO has previously used Qualcomm chips to power earlier Z-series models. For instance, the iQOO Z7 featured the Snapdragon 782G, while the iQOO Z6 (Chinese edition) from the previous year came equipped with the Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset.

Regarding the launch date, it is anticipated that iQOO may announce the iQOO Z8 towards the end of August.
