The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is on sale in China for almost 2 months now. Based on inputs from users, the device is now receiving a major software update in the region.

The latest firmware update brings a ton of fixes and optimizations. It also arrives with a new useful feature and updates security patches.

Let’s check out everything that’s new with the latest software update for the Razr 40 Ultra in China.

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra

According to the official changelog, the fresh system update for the Chinese Motorola Razr 40 Ultra bumps up the security patch level to July 2023. Most importantly, the update adds support for the QQ app on the external display.

For those unaware, QQ is a popular instant messaging platform in China. Thus, to be able to use the app on the cover screen of the Razr 40 Ultra without opening the main foldable display is a great convenient factor.

Further, the new firmware arrives with optimizations for several things, such as charging, power consumption, tent mode, external screen experience, network performance, cameras, wireless projection, and gaming performance. The update also brings fixes for the third-party app experience, especially on the cover display.

Last but not least, the latest system update also bumps up the version of almost all the system apps due to multiple fixes and optimizations. The fresh software build is being rolled out in batches like any other OTA update.

The update should reach all the Chinese units of Motorola Razr 40 Ultra in the next few days. We don’t have any word on a similar update for the global variant of the handset.
