OnePlus has seemingly confirmed the name of its first-ever foldable phone. The brand shared a tweet yesterday. It came around the time when Samsung unveiled its fifth generation Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The upcoming OnePlus foldable phone has already surfaced in leaked renders and specifications. Read on to know more about it below.

OnePlus Open is the name of the brand’s first foldable

The tweet shared by OnePlus reads ‘We OPEN where other FOLD’. This means that the foldable phone may indeed be called OnePlus Open although there is no direct confirmation. There have been speculations about the same name of the upcoming offering for some time. Previously, the brand’s foldable device was tipped to be called the OnePlus Fold or OnePlus V Fold.

Other details about the OnePlus Open remain a mystery. Earlier today, the brand announced that it will launch the Ace 2 Pro smartphone in China next month. The foldable phone is already confirmed to debut in the third quarter of this year. It’s quite a possibility that the device may be announced alongside the Ace 2 Pro.

As per leaked renders, the OnePlus Open has a tall form factor and a slim profile. The leather back panel has a protruding circular camera module with Hasselblad branding and it houses two 48MP sensors along with a 64MP periscope lens. As for the core specifications, the foldable phone is said to feature a 6.3-inch exterior and a 7.8-inch interior displays, both with AMOLED panels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus Open is tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with up to 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. It will reportedly be backed by a 4,800mAh battery with support for 67W charging.
