The V3 is Vivo’s first imaging chip developed using the advanced 6nm process technology, resulting in a 30 percent increase in energy efficiency compared to its predecessor. This improvement is achieved through a newly designed multi-concurrent AI perception-ISP architecture and the second-generation FIT interconnection system, which reduce power consumption and enhance the algorithm’s performance.

Furthermore, the Vivo V3 allows for seamless integration with the phone’s SoC and significantly reduces image processing time by 20 percent. The V3 imaging chip supports 4K movie portrait video shooting and editing, enabling movie-level bokeh blur, skin quality optimization, and advanced color processing. Additionally, users can perform post-shooting editing, and adjust blur and focus positions to achieve a cinematic effect in portrait videos.

Another notable development is the collaboration between Vivo and Zeiss, which led to the introduction of the new Zeiss T* coating technology. This technology, combined with Multi-ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition), reduces reflectivity by 50 percent on the main camera of the upcoming X-series flagship model, significantly improving image quality. Furthermore, a new “Vario-Apo-Sonnar” standard telephoto lens has been launched to enhance zoom performance.

Vivo is not only focusing on hardware advancements but also on optimizing algorithms to enhance portrait and night scene photography, ensuring a better user experience. It is also exploring future imaging technologies, such as 3D portrait reconstruction and the AIGC future portrait laboratory, to push the boundaries of mobile photography.

Vivo has not yet revealed which mobile phone will debut with the V3 imaging chip, it appears that it will be available on the next-generation X series flagship models. In all likelihood, it could be available on the Vivo X100 Pro and X100 Pro+.
