Honor has recently released an exciting MagicOS system update, version 7.1.0.162 (C00E128R6P5), for its popular Magic5 series phones. The update introduces some noteworthy features and optimizations that enhance the user experience.

What’s new in this update?

One of the key additions is the Mini Window mode, which allows users to access certain apps in a compact floating window. This can be activated by swiping up from the bottom or dragging the top handle of the floating window to the upper left or right corner of the screen. To enable this feature, users can navigate to “Settings > Accessibility > Smart Multi-Window > Mini Window.”

Another improvement is the switch for WeChat video beauty during calls. Now, users can easily toggle the beauty effect on or off by swiping down the notification bar.

The update also brings enhancements to the camera’s photo-taking effects for specific scenarios, as well as improvements to the display effects of the Control Center in certain situations. The audio playback effects have been boosted for better performance, and the multitasking swipe experience has been optimized to provide a smoother experience.

Honor Magic5 series specs overview

HONOR Magic5 series has three models: Honor Magic5, Honor Magic5 Pro, and Honor Magic5 Ultimate Edition. Honor Magic5 features a 6.73-inch FHD+ display while the Pro and Ultimate feature a 6.81-inch FHD+ quad-curved OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. All three models are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with Adreno 740 GPU.

Honor Magic5 Pro

The Magic5 Pro boasts a 50MP quad-camera setup and a 12MP front camera with 3D depth support. It also features IP68 water and dust resistance and has a 5100mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless Honor SuperCharge support.

The Magic5 Ultimate Edition, on the other hand, comes with a nano-ceramic curved glass on the front for enhanced drop resistance. The Ultimate Edition has a leather back, a larger 5450mAh battery, and supports 66W wired and 50W wireless Honor SuperCharge.

All three models run on Magic UI 7.1 based on Android 13 and support 5G connectivity, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. The Magic5 Pro and Ultimate Edition are equipped with a self-developed C1 RF enhancement chip for improved mobile reception and Wi-Fi speeds.
