Huawei is preparing to launch its next-generation flagship series later this year, and leaks suggest there will be some notable changes. One significant change could be the introduction of the Mate 60 with an Apple-like Dynamic Island cutout on the front. Many specifications of the new series have already started to surface, and in a recent development, a tipster has shared the camera details of the standard Mate 60.

Mate 60’s cameras may not see much improvements

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, Huawei Mate 60 will come with a triple camera setup on the rear, headlined by a 50MP primary sensor. There may be an ultrawide lens and a telephoto shooter. For reference, the Mate 50 brings a 50MP main camera, 12MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 13MP ultrawide sensor.

While there is a possibility that the Mate 60 could feature the same cameras as its predecessor, Huawei may introduce some improvements with its XMAGE technology. DCS also suggests that the size and dimensions of the Mate 60 could be “a bit” similar to the Mate 50, which measures 161.5mm in height, 76.1mm in width, and 7.98mm in depth. The phone weighs 206 grams.

The tipster reiterates the Huawei Mate 60 gets a 6.7-inch OLED screen with 1.5K resolution. It should sport a flat panel with narrow bezels and a center punch hole.

As mentioned, the Huawei Mate 60 is rumored to have a new front-facing design with a pill-shaped cutout at the top of the screen. The cutout will house the selfie camera and a 3D depth sensor. Huawei is also planning to add its own version of the Dynamic Island software feature, which will optimize the cutout area for notifications and app design.
