Virtus Motors have commemorated its 7th anniversary with the launch of the Alpha A and Alpha I electric bicycles in India. The August 7 launch event coincided with the 7th anniversary of the EV manufacturer. The Alpha A and Alpha I models come with an affordable price tag. They provide a bridge between conventional cycles and electric motorcycles.

The unveiling of the Virtus Alpha A and Alpha I models, according to the company, signposts a significant advancement in the electric bicycle industry in India. Both models were designed with customer feedback and a focus on cost-effectiveness. They are equipped with an 8.0Ah fixed battery pack. The front suspension and disc brakes system in the models ensure a smooth and stable ride. Additionally, the single-speed design of the two bikes makes navigating various terrains to be easy.

The single level of pedal assistance and throttle available in both the Alpha A and Alpha I enhance the user-friendliness of the models. It is therefore easy for riders to switch between modes when required. The models also feature an LCD screen for real-time ride information. Other features of the Alpha A and Alpha I are ergonomic seats, rubber grip handles, a 250W hub motor, brake sensors, and an ultra-lightweight design.

The Alpha A and Alpha I electric bicycles deliver a range of 30km on the throttle and up to 60km on the pedal assist. The bikes have a top speed of 25km/h and come in a steel frame.

The Alpha A and Alpha I 2023 electric bicycles have a discounted price ranging between Rs. 15,999 (~$193) and Rs. 19,999 (~$242) during the special discount period. The original starting price of the duo is Rs. 24,999 (~$302). The models are available in two color options and can be purchased directly from Virtus Motors. The availability of the two new electric bicycles will subsequently extend to Amazon India.
