WhatsApp, the popular messaging app of Meta has been actively releasing frequent updates to enhance user experience on both iOS and Android platforms. According to WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.16.18 introduces a notable feature, the “Admin Review” option for group chats, now available to a few beta testers.

Admin Review: Empowering Group Admins with New Tools

With this new feature, group admins gain an additional tool to manage their groups more effectively, especially when they are unavailable. Group members can report messages shared in the conversation to the admins, fostering a safer and more respectful environment within the chat.

Once a message is reported, the admin can choose to either delete it for everyone or take appropriate action based on the reported content, such as removing the sender from the group. The messages requiring review are conveniently listed in a new section within the group info screen. Any member in the chat can send a message for review by simply accessing the message options.

WhatsApp admin review feature

The introduction of the admin review feature empowers group administrators to maintain a watchful eye on the group even when they are not actively participating. This feature adds an extra layer of security and reinforces user privacy in group interactions.

The feature is gradually rolling out to WhatsApp beta testers who install the latest update from the Google Play Store, with broader availability expected in the coming days. Additionally, WhatsApp is also working on enhancing security measures using email addresses and introducing animated avatars to enhance user interactions.
