WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to switch between multiple accounts on the same device. This is a much-needed feature, as users who currently have multiple WhatsApp accounts have had to either clone the app (which is only available on certain Android devices) or login to a different device altogether. With the new multi-account feature, users will be able to easily switch between their accounts without having to go through these workarounds.

WhatsApp to bring multi-account support

The feature was first reported by WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo. According to them, the feature is currently only available in WhatsApp beta for Android versions 2.23.17.7 and 2.23.17.8.

Beta testers can see if they have access to the multi-account feature on their WhatsApp account by tapping on the icon next to the QR code in the app’s settings. If they are eligible, a card will appear on the bottom with the option to add another account. They can then enter their phone number and password for the new account.

To switch to a different account, users can tap the same icon (next to the QR) and select the desired account. Each account has its own chats, notifications, and settings, and they can all be used on the same device.

As mentioned earlier, the multi-account feature for WhatsApp is currently only available to beta testers on Android. If you’re not a beta tester, you can’t use it yet. You can try joining the Google Play Beta Program for WhatsApp, but it’s currently full and not accepting new members.

WhatsApp has rolled out several new features in recent months, and the company is still testing some useful features to make its platform even better.
