Samsung is apparently working on a brand-new foldable device. A company executive has confirmed that the company is developing a new foldable tablet and even revealed some of its design elements. So let’s have a look.

Samsung is investing heavily in foldable tablets

The news arrives from Samsung mobile head T.M. Roh. In an interview with The Independent last month, the senior official confirmed the development of foldable tablets as well as foldable laptops. He stated that “People open up a book to read and open up a notebook to write something. When they’re not being used or when on the move and they can be folded shut, which makes them more compact and portable, as well as protecting important information inside. It’s just a natural part of human behavior”.

ROh added that “What has been applied to the smartphone will then spread to the tablet and laptops as well. To that end, we at Samsung are investing a lot of resources.” This confirms that the South Korean tech giant is working on foldable tablets and laptops, and is investing heavily into the venture. In the laptop space, we have the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED, which the upcoming foldable notebooks from Samsung will likely compete with.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a foldable tablet from Samsung. We had previously also reported on the brand possibly working on a Galaxy Z Fold Tab model. LetsGoDigital had even covered certain patents that described the foldable tablet, which featured two hinges for the folding mechanics.
