GoPro is widely popular among people who are adventure enthusiasts and also photographers. The leading action camera maker is known for its compact design, durability, and impressive image stabilization making it the ideal device to take everywhere. The brand announced the Hero 11 series in September last year which means it is due to get a successor soon. The next-generation offering will likely be called the GoPro Hero 12 Black. Ahead of the official launch, its details have surfaced online courtesy of tipster Roland Quandt.

The GoPro Hero 12 Black will come with minor cosmetic changes compared to its predecessor. It has the same dimensions and a compact design as the Hero 11 Black. One noticeable change between the two devices is that the body material on the upcoming offering will feature small Blue colored speckles compared to plain Black. The report adds that the action camera will retain the 2.27-inch main display on the rear and a 1.4-inch screen on the front.  

As per the report, the GoPro Hero 12 Black will feature a 27MP 1/1.9-inch camera sensor just like its predecessor. Meanwhile, video screen grabs will be limited to 24.7MP. With this users will be able to shoot in 8 and 10-bit settings. The action camera will support up to 5.3K video recording at 60fps along with support for HDR. It will pack features like HyperSmooth 6.0 stabilization, Horizon Lock, HyperView, HyperSmooth AutoBoost, and more. 

The GoPro Hero 12 Black will reportedly be powered by the same 1,720mAh Enduro battery but it will offer a slightly longer usage up to 70 minutes when shooting 5.3K at 60fps compared to its predecessor. Shooting FHD videos will last up to 2.5 hours. 

The GoPro Hero 12 Black is tipped to be available for purchase on September 13 and it will reportedly carry a price tag of EUR 449.
