Polestar has hit a significant milestone, reaching the production of 150,000 Polestar 2 models since its commencement in China in 2020. As the brand’s first all-electric car, the Polestar 2’s success highlights the growing demand for sustainable vehicles across the globe. And that’s great.

Polestar has been steadily garnering an audience with its unique R&D

In the United Kingdom alone, more than 20,000 units were sold, reflecting a staggering 174% growth in new registrations during the first seven months of 2023. Such figures underscore the European market’s importance to the brand, with the 100,000th Polestar 2 being delivered to a customer in Dublin, Ireland.

The 2024 upgrade of the Polestar 2 introduces features that might continue to appeal to consumers, such as a more efficient AWD powertrain and a new 82-kilowatt-hour battery. These improvements promise longer range and faster charging, aligned with the CEO Thomas Ingenlath’s statement that the upgraded model is the “best version to date.”

Beyond this milestone, Polestar’s future looks bright as it prepares to expand its range. The lineup includes various models like the Polestar 3 performance SUV, manufactured in the United States, and other exciting offerings produced in China. The connection to China remains robust through the brand’s ties to the wider Geely group, which also incorporates Volvo.
