The demand for handheld gaming devices has been gaining traction lately. This is due to the easy accessibility and on-the-go gaming experience. Nintendo’s Switch has been widely popular over the years and today there are new entrants in the market which include Valve’s Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally, and Razr Edge. Notably, Sony is also working on its PlayStation handheld called Project Q. Now Lenovo is expected to be the latest brand to join the handheld gaming bandwagon with the Legion Go. Now key details of the upcoming offering have surfaced online.

Lenovo Legion Go

The Lenovo Legion Go has been subject to leaks and rumors since the beginning of this month revealing key details. Now, the launch date, price, and full specifications of the device have surfaced via a leaked press release shared by Windows Report. The publication has obtained the confidential document from a trusted source. 

As per the report, the Lenovo Legion Go is set to launch later this week, more precisely on September 1. It will be announced at the upcoming IFA 2023 in Berlin which begins this Friday. The handheld gaming device will reportedly be priced at EUR 799 and will be available for purchase in October. 

Coming to the core specifications, the Lenovo Legion Go is set to feature a large 8.8-inch IPS touch-enabled display bearing a QHD+ resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness, and a 97 percent DCI-P3 color gamut. As per leaked renders, it will come with detachable controllers just like the Switch. It has two analog sticks, a D-Pad, four buttons (A, B, X, and Y), and a touchpad. The back side also seems to feature a scroll wheel and four additional buttons. The device will be equipped with dual 2W speakers and dual near-field microphones. 

Under the hood, the Lenovo Legion Go will reportedly be powered by up to AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme with AMD RDNA GPU. It will pack 16GB LPDDR5X RAM onboard and the device will be offered in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage configurations. The device will feature a quiet fan and icy cool thermals for heat dissipation. Battery is the main drawback of handheld gaming consoles. The Legion Go will be backed by a 2-cell 49.2WHr whereas the controller will be powered by a 900mAh unit. Lenovo’s console will also support 65W fast charging. 

Connectivity options on the Legion Go include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, two USB Type-C 4.0 ports with PD 3.0, 3.5mm audio jack, and microSD card reader. The device will run on Windows 11 and ship with three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. 

Lenovo Legion Go

As previously leaked, the Lenovo Legion Go will be compatible with AR Glasses. The leaked press release reveals that the Legion AR Glass will be priced at Rs 45,000. It will feature a microLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution. It will also be equipped with high-fidelity speakers. The device will feature USB-C with DP ALT mode making it usable with other devices apart from the Legion Go. 

Lastly, the leaked PR reveals that the Lenovo Legion E510 will be an RGB earphone with a 10mm driver and 7.1 surround sound support. It will be priced at Rs 4,500.
