In a recent Geekbench listing, it was discovered that Red Magic is working on the upcoming Red Magic 9 gaming smartphone which will feature the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. That being said, the brand has just launched the Red Magic 8S Pro in Indonesia.

In Indonesia, the company has introduced two storage options for the smartphone. The first variant comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and is priced at IDR 11,999,000. It will be available in Midnight color. The second variant comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage and is priced at IDR 14,999,000. It will be available in Aurora color. It’s worth noting that the Aurora color variant with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage will be available in limited numbers. The pre-orders for the smartphone have started today on August 29th and will continue until September 19th, 2023.

Red Magic 8S Pro specs

The Red Magic 8S Pro sports a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2,480 x 1,116 pixels, 10-bit color depth, a brightness of 1,300 nits, and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, clocked at 3.36GHz. It offers up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The phone boasts an efficient ICE 12.0 cooling system with a spacious 2068mm³ vapor chamber (VC) for effective heat dissipation. It’s fueled by a substantial 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.

The screen houses a fourth-gen 16MP under-display camera. On the rear, you’ll find a triple camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro unit.

The device features dual speakers, 3 microphones, and an X-Axis Linear Motor. It also has an integrated fingerprint scanner that functions as a heart-rate monitor. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 7, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
