Apple is officially launching the iPhone 15 series on September 12. The new phones are expected to come with several upgrades, including the use of a titanium alloy frame, instead of a stainless steel frame for the first time. Xiaomi is rumored to be the first Android manufacturer to follow suit, with its upcoming Xiaomi 14 series smartphones also expected to have a titanium alloy frame.

In a recent post, tipster DigitalChatStation revealed that many flagship phones will be using titanium alloy in their construction by the end of this year. Xiaomi is one of the brands that is said to be using titanium alloy, specifically for the frame of the Xiaomi 14 series.

This news coincides with a post on Weibo by IceUniverse from early last month, where he said that the Xiaomi 14 Pro will be the first Android smartphone to feature a titanium alloy frame.

For those unaware, titanium alloy is a strong and lightweight material that is often used in aerospace and defense applications. It is also resistant to corrosion and wear. So, it’s expected to be a welcome addition to smartphones, as it will make them more durable and long-lasting.

Anyway, the tipster revealed a few days ago that the Xiaomi 14 series is expected to be released before the 11.11 shopping festival in China, which takes place on November 11th. This is earlier than the usual release schedule for Xiaomi’s number series, which is typically around a year after the previous generation.

The blogger attributed the early release to the strong sales of the Xiaomi 13 series. The Xiaomi 13 series was released in December 2022, but it has reportedly their sales target in just 9 months.
