The Acer Nitro XV242F gaming monitor has been unveiled in China. The new Acer gaming monitor packs a VESA DisplayHDR 400-certified display with a 540Hz refresh rate. It has a 24-inch TN panel with 1080p resolution.
The new Acer Nitro XV242F monitor is targeted at eSports gamers, as exemplified by the monitor’s monster refresh rate of 540Hz. It also has a very low response time as low as 0.1ms and will be a boon for e-gamers. The Nitro XV242F supports variable refresh rates when using AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards. This substantially eliminates image tearing at high refresh rates. The monitor outputs a maximum brightness of 400 nits and has a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, as well as 99% sRGB color gamut coverage.
The Acer Nitro XV242F gaming monitor has a single DisplayPort 1.4 interface, two HDMI 2.0 ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It comes with dual 2W stereo speakers for a decent sound output. The Nitro XV242F is priced at 3,999 yuan (~$550) and can be purchased from Taobao. The availability of the Acer XV242F gaming monitor is tied to China for now, it is expected to become available in other markets subsequently.
The combination of VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, high and variable refresh rates, impressive peak brightness, and connectivity options will be appealing to esports gamers. The gaming monitor could potentially become a huge hit when it eventually berths on the international market.
