Japanese electronics giant – Sharp has announced two new smartphones – Sharp AQUOS R8s and AQUOS R8s Pro in Taiwan. Both smartphones bundle some exciting camera setups and a high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Let’s talk about the specs of each below:

Sharp AQUOS R8s Pro Specs

The Pro version bundles a 6.6-inch IGZO OLED display with a 1,260 x 2,730px QHD resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, and 200 nits of impressive peak brightness. It is powered with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC coupled with 12GB RAM LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 internal storage. Sharp AQUOS also houses a microSD card slot up to 1TB.

The smartphone bundles a 12.6MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. On the rear, there’s a Dual-camera module consisting of a 47.2MP primary lens having a 1″ sensor size and a 1.9MP 14ch spectrum sensor to measure intensity and color.

It bundles a 5000 mAh battery with fast wired charging and wireless charging support. It runs AQUOS UX 13 based on Android 13 OS out of the box

It is available only in Black color and is priced at TWD 32,490 which roughly translates to ~$1,018.

Sharp AQUOS R8s Specs

Sharp AQUOS R8s is a smaller version of the Pro model and houses a 6.4-inch Full HD IGZO OLED display having 1300 nits brightness and 240Hz refresh rate. It bundles a 450 mAh battery and supports a 3.5mm audio headphone jack.

It is also powered with the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The user can expand storage up to 1TB via a MicroSD card slot.

Sharp AQUOS R8s will retail for TWD 23,490 which converts to ~$735 USD. Pre-orders are bundled with free phone cases and lens filters. The company is offering a TWD 500 discount if you fill out a questionnaire.
