Nikon releases the Z f full-frame mirrorless camera

Nikon has announced the release of the Z f, a full-frame mirrorless camera with a retro-inspired design. The camera is equipped with a 24.5-megapixel full-frame sensor, the same EXPEED 7 processor found in Nikon’s higher-end Z8 and Z9 cameras, and a variety of other advanced features, including:

  • Five-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS)
  • 299-point phase-detection autofocus system with subject detection
  • 4K video recording at 60 FPS or 30 FPS
  • Articulating 3.2-inch touchscreen display
  • Continuous burst shooting at up to 30 FPS

The Z f is designed to appeal to photographers of all skill levels, but it is especially well-suited for those who want a camera with a classic look and feel. The camera’s body is made of aluminum and features a number of retro design elements, such as a top plate with dedicated dials for exposure settings and a classic Nikon logo.

Despite its retro design, the Z f is a very modern camera. It is equipped with the latest in imaging technology, including Nikon’s new Pixel Shift mode, which allows users to capture images with up to 99 megapixels of resolution. The camera also features a variety of advanced video features, such as 10-bit H.265 recording and support for Nikon’s N-Log and Flat Picture Control profiles.

The Z f is expected to be available in October 2023 for a price of $1,999.95. It will be sold in two colors: black and silver.
