Vivo is reportedly set to start its “enlargement strategy” in October, with a slew of new products on the horizon, including the new Origin OS 4 system, Vivo X100 series, Vivo X Fold 3, and iQOO 12 series. Notably, a tipster on Weibo has revealed some information about the iQOO 12 series.

According to the leaker, the iQOO 12 series will be equipped with a 2K screen, with eye protection features specifically designed for e-sports users. The phone is likely to support a 144Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The iQOO 12 series is also rumored to feature 200W charging which would certainly come in handy for gamers. As for the processor, the iQOO 12 series is expected to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship mobile platform, which will offer significant improvements in CPU and GPU performance. It will be coupled with LPDDR 5X and UFS 4.0 memory, as well as a large-area VC liquid cooling system to keep thermals under control.

Additionally, there are reports that the iQOO 12 series is being tested with the V3 chip, Vivo’s third-generation self-developed chip. The V3 chip is a 6nm process chip that uses a multi-concurrent ISP architecture and a second-generation FIT interconnection system. It is said to offer a 20% improvement in image processing time and a 30% improvement in energy efficiency compared to the previous generation.

Jia Jingdong, vice president of Vivo, previously revealed that the Vivo X100 series and iQOO 12 series will launch after the Asian Games. As a result, the iQOO 12 series might launch sometime in late October or in the first week of November.
