At the 4th annual Hon Hai Tech Day, Foxconn, the world-renowned electronics manufacturer based in Taiwan, unveiled its latest achievements in the electric vehicle sector. Chairman Liu Yangwei introduced the highly anticipated Model N, an electric cargo van primarily tailored for logistics applications. Featuring an innovative ‘tap and unload’ one-button design, the van boasts automatic flipping cargo compartment boarding steps and safety warning projection lights, coupled with an electric rear rolling door for seamless functionality.

Simultaneously, Foxconn announced plans for mass production of the sporty and smart Model B, a crossover set to redefine the electric vehicle landscape. The Model B comes equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a spacious 15.6-inch IVI (in-vehicle infotainment) screen and UWB (ultra-wideband communication technology) digital keys, showcasing Foxconn’s commitment to blending sophistication with practicality.

Chairman Liu emphasized Foxconn’s comprehensive vertical integration capabilities, exemplified through a diverse array of electric vehicles, ranging from high-end cars to SUVs, compact pickups, and commercial buses. He highlighted Foxconn’s unique business model, CDMS (commissioned design and manufacturing services), offering tailored solutions to the automotive industry. This model significantly reduces costs and accelerates time to market, proving pivotal in the electric vehicle sector’s future success.

Furthermore, Foxconn solidified partnerships with leading technology companies. Collaborating with NVIDIA, Foxconn will leverage NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion 9, the next-gen platform for autonomous automotive fleets. NVIDIA Founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing Foxconn’s ability to build AI factories globally, thereby accelerating the AI industrial revolution.

Additionally, Foxconn deepened ties with the ZF Group, a German automotive supplier. This collaboration aims to expand their product range in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles, enhancing their global presence and driving Next Generation Mobility initiatives. 

The event showcased not only Foxconn’s prowess in electric vehicles but also its foray into space technology. Attendees had the opportunity to explore Foxconn’s electric logistics vehicles and were introduced to the company’s low-Earth orbit satellite, LEO, scheduled for launch next month.

Foxconn’s ambitious strides in electric vehicles mark a significant chapter in the automotive industry’s evolution. With Model N’s innovative design and Model B’s intelligent features, Foxconn continues to shape the future of electric mobility, inviting traditional automobile companies to embrace their groundbreaking technologies.
