The Huawei Mate 60 series is making waves in the smartphone market with its features and price. Out of the four models in the series, the Huawei Mate 60 Pro undoubtedly stands out the most. Introduced in August, the phone has been selling like hotcakes ever since, and those who want to buy it are having trouble finding it in stock. Moreover, even after almost two months, the demand doesn’t seem to be decreasing. According to the research firm Counterpoint, Huawei has sold millions of models in the past six weeks, with one-third of these sales occurring in the last week alone. Here are the details…

Huawei Mate 60 Pro Outsells iPhone 15 Pro Max by 10% in China

According to Counterpoint, Huawei has sold 1.6 million units of the Mate 60 Pro in just six weeks. Of those, over 400,000 units were sold in the past two weeks alone. Don’t get me wrong, selling 1.6 million units in six weeks is an impressive achievement. However, for the Chinese tech giant, this is just the beginning. This is because the Mate 60 Pro is still in short supply. If supply were to improve, sales could potentially be even higher. The fact that 400,000 of the 1.6 million units were sold in the last week is an indicator of this potential.

Huawei Mate 60 Pro vs iPhone 15 Pro Max

Of course, it’s still a matter of curiosity what challenges Huawei faces in production and whether they can meet the demand. However, it’s also possible to say that the company is fortunate. Especially considering that the iPhone 15 series disappointed both in China and the rest of the world. Although the performance of these phones is as good as ever, they failed to excite users in terms of innovation and design, and didn’t feel different from the iPhone 14 series. On the other hand, the Mate 60 series created the exact opposite positive impact.

The overall sales of the iPhone 15 series in China are down 4.5% from the iPhone 14 series in the same period. The Pro Max has seen the biggest decline, with sales down 14%. The Pro is down 11%. Industry insiders also believe that the sudden release of the Mate 60/X5 series has had a negative impact on the iPhone 15.

It remains to be seen whether the Mate 60 Pro‘s success will continue. However, the early sales figures suggest that Huawei is back on track to compete with Apple in the global smartphone market.
