Tencent Developing New Ways to Hide and Encrypt Chat Conversations
Tencent has been granted a patent for a new technology that allows users to hide and encrypt chat conversations. The patent, titled “Chat Conversation Display Method, Device, Terminal, and Storage Medium,” was granted on October 24. The patent describes a method for hiding chat conversations by moving them from the main chat interface to a hidden chat interface. To access the hidden chat interface, users must first enter a password. This two-step process helps to protect the privacy of sensitive conversations.
The patent also describes a method for encrypting chat conversations. This means that the conversations would be scrambled in such a way that only the user who knows the password would be able to read them. This would further protect the privacy of the conversations, even if someone were to gain access to the device.
Tencent has not yet announced when or if it plans to implement this technology in its products. However, the patent suggests that the company is interested in developing new ways to protect the privacy of its users’ communications.
