Future Apple smartwatches tipped to pack enhanced health monitoring features

Apple Watch Ultra 3 Launch 2024 Delayed

Citing people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says that Apple is working on several health-related features and a paid health service for next year’s Apple Watch. The next-generation smartwatch from the company will also be the tenth edition. Hence, it makes sense that the Cupertino-based tech giant may introduce significant upgrades to the offering.

As per the latest report, the Apple Watch 2024 is tipped to come with a blood pressure sensor to detect elevated levels. The initial system won’t reportedly display systolic and diastolic measurements but subsequent versions are said to be in development for more detailed information. With the new blood pressure journal, users will be able to log details of their hypertensive episodes.

Apple will also introduce the ability to detect sleep apnea on the Apple Watch. The wearable device will track the person’s sleeping pattern and breathing to detect if the person has the condition. If the user indeed has the condition, a companion app will recommend them to follow medical advice.

Gurman added that to incorporate all those new features the upcoming Apple Watch will get a revamped design. Additionally, the company is also working on a digital paid health coaching service that will offer personalized workout and diet plans with the help of using AI and data from user’s devices. The latest report also reiterates Apple’s plans to position its future AirPods as a viable substitute for hearing aids. The company is also exploring the possibility of integrating anti-anxiety and workout features for its upcoming Vision Pro headset.
