The city of Washington D.C. announced a new initiative to distribute free Apple AirTags to drivers in selected police service areas in an effort to combat the rise in car thefts. The program is currently available to residents who live in Police Service Areas 106, 501, 502, 603, 605, and 606.

The city’s police department has been struggling to keep up with the rise in car thefts, and the new AirTag program is seen as a way to help them recover stolen vehicles more quickly and efficiently.
