Nothing is now rolling out the second beta build of NothingOS 2.5, which is based on Android 14 and designed for the Nothing Phone (2). This release follows closely on the heels of the Open Beta 1 rollout in October.

One of the standout features in the Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta 2 is the Glyph Interface. It introduces Glyph Progress integration for Google Calendar, making it easier for users to keep track of their upcoming events with a handy 5-minute countdown. The Glyph Timer has also seen some enhancements, now supporting time presets for quick duration settings. What’s more, you can open the Glyph Timer directly from the lock screen without the need to unlock your phone, adding a touch of convenience. Additionally, a new Glyph animation has been introduced when NFC is utilized.

Widgets have received a boost too. The lock screen now supports widgets, offering users more customization and quick access to their favorite features. There’s a new Pedometer widget with a fun animation for step tracking and progress tracking, a Screentime widget, and a media widget for seamless navigation of podcasts and music from various sources.

Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta 2 isn’t just about features; it’s also about the finer details. Predictive Back is now supported on all Nothing apps, and there are more options for the double-press power button gesture. Users will also experience improved reliability with the three-finger swipe gesture, and several status bar icons have received a refresh. General bug fixes round out the improvements, ensuring a smoother user experience.

For those eager to get their hands on Nothing OS 2.5 – Open Beta 2, you can either update through Settings if you’re already part of Beta 1 or follow a simple process to join the beta.
