VMoto, known for its pioneering work in electric mobility, recently introduced the CPx Explorer at EICMA 2023, signaling their entry into the growing electric scooter market. This market, which Honda initiated in 2016 with their X-ADV, has seen many players, but VMoto’s foray is marked by its focus on electric power, a sign of the times in motorcycle evolution.

The scooter can hit speeds of up to 65 miles per hour

The CPx Explorer, born out of a collaboration with the renowned design firm Pininfarina, stands out with its bold design, incorporating LED lighting and angular shapes, topped with a tall windscreen for comfort. Despite its adventurous spirit, it retains scooter essentials like a flat floorboard and a rear luggage rack, ensuring practicality isn’t lost in its quest for innovation.

Electric

Performance-wise, the CPx Explorer is equipped with an eight-kilowatt electric motor, producing about 11 horsepower. This configuration allows it to hit speeds up to 65 mph, making it suitable for city commuting and occasional trips beyond city limits. Its battery promises a range of about 62 miles on a single charge, fitting for both daily use and longer explorations.

The CPx Explorer isn’t just a new model; it’s a statement about the future of two-wheeled transport. Building on the success of the CPx Pro – which set a Guinness World Record for covering 1,200 miles in 24 hours – the Explorer variant is expected to inherit the same reliability and robustness. While VMoto hasn’t released pricing or availability details yet, those interested in this electric adventure scooter should keep an eye on updates, as it aims to make a significant impact in the market.
