Ant Group and Huawei partner to develop native HarmonyOS applications

Ant Group’s Vice President, Yu Bin, expressed the company’s commitment to innovation and breakthroughs in app development, stating that the partnership with Huawei will lead to the creation of superior products.

Huawei Terminal Cloud Services President, Zhu Yonggang, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the potential for deeper cooperation between mPaaS and HarmonyOS in the future. He envisioned enhanced capabilities for mPaaS and a collaboratively constructed ecosystem.

This partnership aligns with Huawei’s broader efforts to expand the HarmonyOS ecosystem.

Recently, the company partnered with Alibaba to develop a native version of the DingTalk app for HarmonyOS and announced a collaboration with Meituan to develop applications for the operating system. These partnerships underscore the growing momentum behind HarmonyOS adoption.

Huawei has also announced plans to phase out Android app support from HarmonyOS in China with the release of HarmonyOS Next. This move signals Huawei’s confidence in HarmonyOS’s capabilities and its commitment to building a self-sufficient operating system ecosystem.
