It took over a decade, but it finally happened. More people were probably waiting for this as compared to the final Avengers movie. One of the most prestigious games studios in the world, Rockstar Games, has finally unveiled the first trailer for their upcoming game, Grand Theft Auto 6, set in Vice City. The studio has a lot of big names under their belt, such as Red Dead Redemption, Bully, and GTA V, and this upcoming game is expected to shatter all previous records.

The trailer was originally supposed to drop tomorrow, but the company pulled a cheeky move, surprising millions of people across the globe by just dropping a trailer on their YouTube channel. The trailer showcases the rich environment of Florida, including the swampy Everglades National Park, complete with airboats and wildlife, alongside the series’ trademark urban elements like a strip club. The 1-minute and 30-second long trailer is loaded with bright colors, guitar riffs, cars, ruckus, and what seem to be the main characters of the game. This will also be the first time a non-male character will lead the narrative of the game. A nice, modern touch depicts a lot of modern-day trends in the trailer, which not only makes the game relatable to today’s audience but also opens up new storytelling possibilities and gameplay mechanics that reflect current social media trends. The trailer got millions of likes in less than 10 minutes, clearly depicting how people were thirsty for this. 

The trailer also dropped a crucial piece of information – the launch date of the game (hopefully accurate). 2025 – Mark your calendars. If you’re not a GTA fan yet, now is a great time to become one. Considering the last game made more money than some of the biggest movies in the world, one can only imagine how Rockstar will top themselves in 12 years. Time to start the countdown!
