Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 surfaces on FCC

The South Korean tech giant’s new Galaxy Tab Active 5 5G and the Wi-Fi only variant recently visited the FCC database. Looking at the online listing, the 5G variant of the tablet carries the model number SM-X306B, while the Wi-Fi only version carries the model number SM-X300. The certification revealed that the Galaxy Tab Active 5 will feature 128GB of internal storage along with support for up to 64GB of additional storage via a microSD card slot.

For those unaware, Samsung’s new tablet is the direct successor to the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, which launched last year. The FCC listing adds that the Galaxy Tab Active 5 supports an S-Pen stylus and a 15W fast charger. Unfortunately, this was all the information shared on the certification platform. However, we can expect upgrades over the Galaxy Active 4 Pro. Previously, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 was even spotted on the Safety Korea certification.

For those unaware, the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro sports a tall 10.1-inch TFT LCD panel that supports FHD resolution. Under the hood, this model is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC. The rear features a 13-megapixel primary camera, while the front houses an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. A large 7,600mAh battery pack powers this device. So, the next gen model will likely include an improved processor and better display. Keep in mind that this is still just speculation so take this news with a pinch of salt for now.
