Moon Studios, known for the enchanting Ori series, surprised fans at The Game Awards with a bold leap into new territory. Their latest creation, “No Rest for the Wicked”, is an action-RPG game that marks a drastic shift from the serene, peaceful world of Ori to a darker, more intense world.

The new iteration of the game promises to be darker and more mature

Set in a mythical kingdom during the year 841, “No Rest for the Wicked” unfolds amidst royal turmoil and a devastating plague on the island of Sacra. Players find themselves in the thick of this chaos, battling ferocious beasts and confronting an aggressive kingdom. Unlike the tranquil adventures of Ori, this game promises a gritty and mature narrative.

Scheduled for early access on PC in early 2024, with a full release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S to follow, “No Rest for the Wicked” is poised to offer a fresh experience to action-RPG fans. Moon Studios’ cofounder, Thomas Mahler, expressed excitement about venturing into this genre, fueled by the success and maturity gained from their Ori series.

As anticipation builds, Moon Studios plans to unveil more details at their “Wicked Inside” digital showcase on March 1, 2024.
